Magnus Jernemyr is one of Sweden's most prominent handball players, renowned for his defensive skills and long international career.

Born in 1976, Magnus started his handball journey at a young age and developed into a star on the international stage, primarily as a defensive specialist.

Early Years and Club Career

Magnus Jernemyr began playing handball in Orsa and showed great talent for the sport early on. After playing for Borlänge HK as a junior, he moved on to the prestigious Redbergslid IK, where he began building his reputation as one of Sweden’s best defensive players. During his time in Sweden, he established himself as a solid and hard-working defender, winning no less than seven Swedish championships with Redbergslid.

International Career and Achievements

Jernemyr's talent led him to try his luck abroad, and he played for several years with the top club FC Barcelona in the Spanish league, where he made a significant impact. It was in Barcelona that he truly cemented his reputation as a top-tier defensive specialist. His time in the Spanish handball league made him part of an internationally renowned handball team and a key player in Barcelona’s defense. With FC Barcelona, he won several titles, including league championships and other international trophies. He also contributed to the team’s success in the Champions League, further enhancing his reputation.

National Team Career

In addition to his club successes, Magnus Jernemyr also represented Sweden on the national team for many years. His international career included appearances in major tournaments like the Olympics, World Championships, and European Championships, with the silver medal at the London 2012 Olympics being his crowning achievement.
